Enter a single character, followed by a newline
Using javascript's string.charCodeAt
(http://developer.netscape.com/docs/manuals/communicator/jsguide/restring.htm#1008595),
I get "10" for a newline in Gecko. IE and ns4 on windows return "13" "10" ( 2
characters are used for newline).
So this is a 4.x compatability problem, as we return the unix value for each
platform.

Actually, this is invalid. Line-breaks in the DOM are always just an LF.
