Steps to reproduce:

  1. Type “boo” into the address bar. Firefox suggests books.google.com even though I have never visited that site.
  2. Press Shift+Delete to delete the suggestion. The top suggestion changes to a search with the default search engine.
  3. Type “k”. Firefox suggests books.google.com again.

Actual results:

I can't work out how to delete this suggestion of a site I have never visited.

Expected results:

It should be possible to disable adverts for Mozilla's partners in the address bar. I only want to see suggestions of sites I have actually visited.

This suggestion was appearing because I had visited (and bookmarked!) a page on books.google.com other than the front page. After deleting the bookmark Firefox no longer suggests the front page of that domain.

So it's confusing that Shift+Delete seems to work, and then the suggestion immediately reappears — but this bug as stated doesn't exist.
