Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:85.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/85.0

Steps to reproduce:

Taskkill firefox to force it to go into safe mode.

Actual results:

The browser on next launch gave me two options:

  • Refresh Firefox
  • Start in Safe Mode

Expected results:

There should be a third option that explicitly introduces a "Run normally" that ignores the reason for the prompt in the first place. Numerous friends of mine have fallen into it and wen with the refresh option thinking it'd nothing but restart it. It's misleading and introduces bad accessibility to the safe mode prompt.

I don't think this is accessibility specifically, but I agree it's certainly confusing (and potentially destructive) UX.

I agree, I just didn't know what exactly to classify it as.

This is a front-end issue.

not really sure what the equivalent to taskkill is on mac and ubuntu,

but i was able to replicate this in command line with Windows10 64bit, using Fx Release93, Beta 94.0b7 and Nightly 95
