User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:87.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/87.0
Steps to reproduce:
I am Using Ubuntu , Thunderbird 78.7.1 (64-Bit)
The new adresslist "Qname" comprises two frequently used addresses from my addressbook.
I try to compose a new email and want to use Qname. However Qname does not show up among possible addresses.
I use other earlier configured addresslists without problems.
I also had a problem when I tried to rename an addresslist - it was no longer available for sending - same as above. After rename to old name the problem was gone.
.
Actual results:
New or renamed adresslist not usable for sending - not found, not usable

I'm assuming Qname is a Mailing List which is a sub list to another address book eg: Personal Address Book.
After creating the Mailing List called Qname, did you exit the address book before opening a new Write message?
OR did you open a new Write message window first and then create the Mailing List called Qname?
Test:
Close Address Book.
Open a new Write window:
Enable the 'Contacts sidebar' ('View' > 'Contacts Sidebar')
Select the name of the address book that contains Qname.
All the contacts listed in that selected address book should appear including Qname.
Select Qname and click on eg: Add to Bcc
Does Qname appear in the 'Contacts Sidebar' list when you select the address book that contains the Mailing List called Qname?
If yes:
In a 'TO' field, type Qname and report back on whether it is now appearing as a drop down autocomplete option.

I tried to follow your procedure. The address book holding Qname is "Persönliches Adressbuch". (Here I also find my old lists "Chor..." which are fully functional).
I was surprised and pleased by the fact I could add Qname to BCC or To without problems using the sidebar.
But when trying to type Qname in a TO or BCC field it does not show up in the drop down autocomplete. (This was my preferred way to do it - I did not use the sidebar)

Has TB 78.10.x been offered as an update yet? Can you try updating to it if it's offered and re-test?
For what it's worth, this works as normal on TB 78.10.1 portable and 89.0b3. In 78.10.1, I created a new Mailing List called Test and added a few generic email contacts to it. I can type into Bcc, To, and Cc with the mailing list name Test and it displays in the dropdown list as a choice. Same with having the Contact Bar present.
