Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:86.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/86.0

Steps to reproduce:

Upgraded from 86.0.1 to 87.0, instantly noticed huge lag issue in Twitch player when I had two streams opened at the same time.

Actual results:

CPU jumping from 24-35% usage on Intel i7 3770.

Expected results:

When I downgraded back to version 86.0.1 and did the same thing CPU usage is from 9-15%. So I would expect the usage to be the same or better on the new version.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::JavaScript Engine' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → JavaScript Engine
Product: Firefox → Core

A Firefox Profile would be enormously helpful to point this to the right component.

If you have time, from both old and new would be helpful.

Component: JavaScript Engine → Audio/Video: Playback

I can upload a profile if you want. I´m having the same issue.

I am also experiencing this bug. I'm running Firefox 91.0 on macOS 11.5.1
