Details

Affected versions

  • Firefox 89.0a1 (BuildId:20210406152948)

Affected platforms

  • macOS 10.15.7
  • macOS 10.14

Unaffected platforms

  • Windows 10 64bit.
  • Ubuntu 20.04

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Access the following link
  3. Double-tap to zoom on a section from the page.
  4. Right click on the tab in order to bring up the context menu.
  5. Duplicate the tab.

Expected result

  • The zoom level and position which was triggered by the double-tap to zoom is preserved for the duplicated tab (as in Safari & Chrome).

Actual result

  • The scroll position seems to be preserved but the zoom level is not.

Regression Range

  • I don’t think that this is a regression.

Notes

  • It seems that the pinch to zoom level is also not preserved for the duplicated tab.
  • Access the following link (Mozilla account needed) for screencast.
  • The double-tap to zoom is disabled by default in Beta 88 so I'm marking the 88 flag as disabled.
Severity: -- → S3
Has Regression Range: --- → irrelevant
Has STR: --- → yes

Thanks for the report. This is a known issue that affects APZ zooming regardless of the method (e.g. double-tap vs. pinch gesture).
