Reproducible: Always

It should launch the program associated with the .zip extension (WinAce, winzip etc)

I get the impression from the FAQ that this behavior is by design ("security
reasons"). However, I feel that this should not be a design decision forced on
the users. Make it an obscure registry setting, bury it deep in menus, whatever,
but users who feel comfortable with their ability to judge for themselves
whether or not they can trust the content they're downloading should be able to
do so, and not be forced to open an explorer window.
Thanks,
John

I don't believe this is a bug, however I would like to see this as an option
that if users believe that they can judge what to run, they can enable
launch file for .exe/.zip/etc.
Changed to enhancement and confirmed.

Here is what i would like:
I want to be able to launch any file including executables.
In IE it gives the option of Saving to disk or Opening directly... I use Save
to disk and then when that completes, a dialog box opens asking if i would like
to open it, open the folder, or close the dialog box.
I would like mozilla to have the options of Save, "Save and Launch", and Open
directly (save to a temp folder first i guess).
Also right click in download manager should allow me to launch files.
Thanks
