User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:87.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/87.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Type about:addons (or click menu /// symbol and select addons or type Ctlr+Shift+A)
- Click on "Extensions" or "Plugins" or "Dictionaries"
- Hoover and right click on one of existing extensions / plugins /dictionaries
- Click "Open in a new tab"
Actual results:
A malformed address is attempted and cannot be opened.
These are samples of addresses shown on address bar:
addons://detail/treestyletab@piro.sakura.ne.jp
addons://detail/gmp-gmpopenh264
addons://detail/marcoagpinto@mail.telepac.pt
The new tab opened shows:
"The address wasn’t understood
Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (addons) isn’t associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.
You might need to install other software to open this address."
Expected results:
Not sure :)
It is possible that extension/plugin/dictionary details does not make sense in a new tab. If this is the case, right click should simply be disabled/replaced.
Otherwise the appropriate details should be opened in a new tab.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'WebExtensions::Untriaged' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hello,
I reproduced the issue on the latest Nightly (90.0a1/20210421212740), Beta (89.0b2/20210420191345), Release (88.0/20210415204500) and Release 87.0 (87.0/20210318103112) under Windows 10 x64 and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
The issue occurs exactly as described in the original description. Note that nothing is logged in any console. However, for further details, please see the attached screenshot.

we're assuming the regression is from the html rewrite.
