The checkin for bug 169373, to enable native themed form controls, causes select dropdowns to not appear when native theme support is enabled on Linux. Patch coming up.

Don't use the result of WidgetStateChanged() unless the theme claims to support the widget. Also, fixed what appears to be a copy and paste error with which frame WidgetStateChanged is called for.
