As an extremely popular site YouTube is definitely one we test against constantly, and in general Firefox performance is as expected and YouTube searches do not take 5 minutes in general. You appear to be using Chrome -- I assume Chrome performance must be as expected? The most likely cause would have seemed to be a general machine or network issue, but that would affect other browsers. My next guess would be that your Firefox has way too many extensions and that's slowing things down. Go to about:support and restart using the "Trouble shooting mode..." button in the top right.

Take the results to https://support.mozilla.org/ to get further help with this issue. There is not enough information here for us to treat it as a "bug", but the folks there can help diagnose the problem and file a new bug if necessary.
