Details

Tested in 89.0b3 and 90.0a1(2021-04-24) BuildID 20210424155423.

STR:

  1. Add a custom search engine and set it as default.
  2. Restart Firefox a few times until the favicon at the address bar and new tab page Web Search is replaced by the Search glass icon.

Expected Behavior:

The search glass icon should be light grey in color. Text should be "Search or enter address" and "Search the Web" respectively (see 88.0b9).

Actual Behavior:

Search glass icon in new tab page Web Search is always black in color, even when in a dark theme. Text is "Search or enter address" in both cases.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Address Bar' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.
