User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:88.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/88.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Turn on VPN
- Use for an extended period of time (hours, days) (if problem is reoccurring, this step can be skipped)
- Check IP Address via multiple sources (ex. Google, iplocation.net, where-am-i.co, etc.)
Actual results:
IP is not consistently masked on the internet, despite the application stating the VPN is on. Upon checking my IP it reveals my actual location instead of the VPN server location.
It also is inconsistent as checking multiple sources yields different results. Using Google or different websites shows my actual location, while using other IP checkers or common websites shows my VPN location (shown in reference screencap).
This could have meant that Google or other IP checking websites are tapping into my cache instead of checking my IP, but resetting my computer and clearing my cookies & cache had not helped.
Expected results:
The VPN should mask my IP when it states it is "on."
This exact problem occurred to me before, but resetting my computer and clearing its cache had solved it last time. I expected it would solve it again, but this time had not worked.
