User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020721 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020721 Have one window open. Visit the NIST time site in another window. It's running some Java script to update the time regularly. Click on the window close box in in the title bar -- Mozilla hangs most of the time. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 0. Open one window. 1. Open another window with http://nist.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Pacific/d/-8/java 2. Click window close box "X" in title bar. 3. Mozilla hangs usually. Actual Results: Mozilla hangs. Stops reponding. Have to kill the process. Expected Results: Window should have gone away and left the other window (Mozilla) working normally.
Workd for me 20021115 on WinXP. Could you try again with a newer build? What version of Java are yuo running?

I just tryed it with 1.1 (non-beta) and it fails there. I tryed to use 1.2beta a week ago and it was so buggy that I uninstalled it. It was unusable for me. I know I should report the bugs but my main use of it is at work and I don't have time to make so many reports. I need something that mostly works. I'm willing to and have made bug reports on the few 1.1beta problems I've run into. If I can find time I'll make a separate installation of 1.2beta and try it there. Java version is 1.3.1_02. -- Doug
I reinstalled Mozilla 1.2b and retryed this bug. It may be a little harder to reproduce with 1.1b and 1.1, but not much. I was able to reproduce it 3 times in about 5 minutes. Same procedure as specified originally. OS is Windows 2000 SP2.
Doug, could you please try again with a new nightly build. Also, it maybe worth trying to upgrade your JRE. I believe 1.4.1 is the most recent.
no response from reporter for >30 days. resolving WORKSFORME. reporter (Doug): if you can reproduce this with a recent build of mozilla, please reopen this bug and give details. thanks.
