(In reply to art.brown from comment #2)
this is a bug. input box for a folder name is disabled.
Works for me on Win10, 78.10.0 (32-bit).
Also works for Richard (:paenglab) on Mac (Big Sur 11.3), 78.10.0.
How exactly have you determined "disabled"?
What happens if you click into the input box and start typing?
Highly unlikely to be a Thunderbird bug.
Pls try if it works after disabling all addons: ≡ > Help > restart with addons disabled
Sorry, but without further details which allow reproduction, there's nothing we can do.
same after restart with addons disabled.
the input box simply does not accept any inputs.
I have been using Thunderbird since 2005 and this phenomenon has been 'come and go' several times so far.
78.10.0 (64-bit) on osx 11.0.1
What theme are you using ? Please confirm you are using one of the default themes Light or Dark.
Right click on 'Local Folders' mail account name in Folder Pane and select 'New folder'
Window opens to allow create new folder.
Is there a flashing text cursor in the text box where you would type the name of folder ?
If no, left click in the text box to get focus, does the flashing text cursor now appear ?
Where it says 'Create as a subfolder of' - Is 'Local Folders' selected?
Reselect 'Local Folders' as location and see if the Text input for name now accepts the left click to get flashing text cursor.
Also test:
Menu app icon > New > Folder
select 'Local Folders' mail account name
Is there a flashing text cursor in the text box where you would type the name of folder ?
Does this way of doing it work ?
Theme: Thunderbird
a flashing text cursor? yes
'Local Folders' selected? yes
oh, it started working after reselecting the target folder of 'Local Folders' in a folder combo, but it is still disable after selecting several sub folders.
it is still unusable for my purpose as I need to create sub folders under the one of subfolder of 'Local Folders'.
