User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:88.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/88.0

Steps to reproduce:

Click on the History toolbar button.

Actual results:

Dropdown panel appeared, and there was an unnecessary scrollbar.

Expected results:

No scrollbar.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Address Bar' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Address Bar

This is another regression to the History toolbar button. What's happening here? Personally, I use this button quite a bit, and it's been getting rather neglected.

Recently, the item order was changed (removing "View History Sidebar" bug 1706575 and re-positioning the "Clear Recent History" entry lower on the list). This caused all kinds of workflow issues.

Previously, the ability to see where a link in the History toolbar button would lead you (bug 1400564) was unnecessarily removed.

The scroll bar issue is tracked in bug 1695617, so duping over there.

I'm sorry to hear that, but there's no malice here.

Recently, the item order was changed (removing "View History Sidebar" bug 1706575 and re-positioning the "Clear Recent History" entry lower on the list). This caused all kinds of workflow issues.

It's not clear to me off-hand what kind of issues this causes, but these would have both been deliberate decisions as well. Does the keyboard shortcut or, for the sidebar, the sidebar button, not let you do what you want?

Previously, the ability to see where a link in the History toolbar button would lead you (bug 1400564) was unnecessarily removed.

So, if we're talking about the recently closed tabs items, I think this was just an oversight that we haven't gotten around to fixing. I'd be happy to mentor someone who wants to fix that bug, or I can take a look after the 90 nightly cycle ends (in about 4-6 weeks). Ping me on the bug then.

For history items, I see tooltips in current beta that have the URL (underneath the title); the summary of the bug seems a bit confused -- all the duplicates are for the recently closed tabs items. I'll clarify in that bug, I guess.
