Steps to reproduce:
Set macOS and/or Thunderbird to Dark mode.
Right-click on a message in a list of messages in any folder.
Choose "Open message in new window".
Actual results:
The header of the message plus its toolbar buttons are displayed in white on white.
Expected results:
It should be displayed in white on black.
