Steps to reproduce:
- Start Thunderbird under Wayland (I used
export MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 && gtk-launch mozilla-thunderbird) - Click Address Book > Personal Address Book > New Contact.
- With a mouse try operating any drop-down menu, such as Contact > Prefers to receive messages formatted as, or Private > Birthday date fields.
Actual results:
The menu pops up and the current choice is highlighted, but moving the mouse around does not highlight other menu items, and I can't click them.
Expected results:
Working UI interaction. The workaround is to use the keyboard arrows and [Enter] key to navigate the menu.
This is the Thunderbird 78.10.1 Fedora 34 package running under KDE Wayland on Fedora 34 KDE spin.
Maybe this isn't working because Address Book uses old XUL components; these drop-down menus don't look like the in-window Preferences. Martin Stransky elsewhere indicated that Thunderbird under Wayland isn't supported yet, but it's been working fine for me for weeks. I hope reporting this isn't a waste of time.

Reporter, how is version 91?
I'm now using the 91.3.0 Fedora package on Fedora 35 KDE spin, and I normally run Thunderbird under Wayland, rarely noticing any issues.
Trying to reproduce this issue: moving the mouse around on the New Contact's drop-down menus highlights different menu items; I can click them, which dismisses the menu and sets the field value. Yay, that's improvement!
However, the only way to dismiss these drop-down menus with the mouse is to click on an item in the menu (including the top-most "header" item that's the field's initial value), or click on a different window altogether. Clicking anywhere else in the New Contact window has no effect. If I unset MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND and restart Thunderbird not under Wayland (to check, look at Help > More Troubleshooting Information... > Window Protocol, it should show "xwayland"), these menus dismiss if I click anywhere in the New Contact window as most menus do.
So it's better than before but still imperfect.
