User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:90.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/90.0
Steps to reproduce:
Firefox Nightly 90.0a1 (2021-05-23)
Open Firefox
Turn on the menu bar
Open a tab
Open a second tab
Open a third tab
Drag the second tab off into a new window
Drag the second tab back onto the first window
Actual results:
The new window was moved
Expected results:
An "insert here" mark should have appeared to show where the tab would be inserted
The tab should have been inserted back into the first window
Note: this works when the menu bar isn't active

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Tabbed Browser' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi Peter,
I'm unable to reproduce the issue on Firefox Nightly 90.0a1 or Firefox 88.0.1
Could you check if this also occurs to you in safe mode? Here is a link that can help you with that:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems
If it also occurs in safe-mode, try making a new profile, and check again (you won't lose your old profile) here's how:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles#w_start-the-profile-manager-when-firefox-is-closed
Thanks!

One thing I just noticed that I'd missed:
- if the target window is NOT maximised, the drop works
- if the target window IS maximised, the drop fails

And today, having update, it works.

So the issue does no longer occur to you either having updated to the latest version?

Ok, thank you for confirming.
Since the issue no longer occurs I'm going to close this report. Feel free to re-open it if the problem resurfaces.
