Perfherder has detected a build_metrics performance regression from push 8cd9953143691d8cef29048041032ab130bd32ba. As author of one of the patches included in that push, we need your help to address this regression.

We are working to reduce the bundled size even further and it's important to mention that this feature won't ride the trains to release but remain in Nightly for an undefined period while we experiment and collect feedback. We appreciate if you don't back it out again before we address the bundle size which should happen this week still.
