Details
I run Kubuntu 21.04 with Wayland session.
On a clean install my default Firefox runs with native Wayland support.
In about:support it lists MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1, but env | grep MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND doesn't list anything.
On the other hand i just installed Nightly and it neither shows nor uses Wayland. Something looks wrong here.

I guess your distro enables Wayland on its builds. Mozilla Nightly does not enable Wayland by default yet, see Bug 1543600.
