1714015 - Chrome bookmarks import does not import the contents of the "other bookmarks" folder

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/91.0.4472.77 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

I have installed the last version of Firefox. It installed properly. However, after importing the bookmarks from Google Chrome, the "other bookmarks" were not imported. See screenshot https://prnt.sc/13pe9zi "

Afterwards, I uninstall Firefox using https://www.revouninstaller.com/
including all hidden files.
Then again installed Firefox . But once more the "other bookmarks" were not imported. The rest of bookmarks are OK!

All bookmarks should be imported

Hello and Good day,
Thank you for the information.
Perhaps, just as a suggestion, Mozilla could figure out how to import it.
I did import all the bookmarks from Google Chrome when importing into the BRAVE browser.
Nevertheless, the new Mozilla looks fantastic.

Hi,

The "Other Bookmarks" imported from Chrome are put into the "Bookmarks Menu" folder rather than the "Other bookmarks" in Firefox.
I'm not entirely sure if this is expected or not, so I'll just set it as "New" until someone confirms or denies this.

Another anecdote of this is on reddit - the user reports enjoying the move from Chrome to Firefox but "the only problem" being this, and working around it via a convoluted process that most users would probably not persevere with. Users with many Chrome bookmarks that fail to import might well abandon us at that point.

Yes, apparently the Chrome migrator is importing Other Bookmarks into the Bookmarks Menu... I suspect in the past it was indeed working like that, where Chrome had bookmarks in the menu and on the toolbar. Now they seem to just have the toolbar and Other Bookmarks folder in the menu.

So it could make sense to import into other bookmarks, even just for matching users expectations.
