User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:89.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/89.0
Steps to reproduce:
I went to 4chan and clicked on webm file.
Actual results:
Unknown filetype or mime-type.
You can still open it in new tab and play it like that.
Expected results:
It should play on the site, inline like it always did before you broke it.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: Playback' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Could you provide the link of that broken webm file? Did you see any error message showing in the web console while playing that file?
Thank you.
Any webm. Just go to 4chan and see.

Those webm files plays well on my Ubuntu in Firefox Nightly. I'll try to play this in my Windows later. Have you changed any preference in about:config
before?

WebMs seem to play ok for me on macOS Big Sur 11.4 (20F71) in Firefox 88.0 and 91.0a1 (2021-06-11)
Are you able to reproduce the error in the latest version or Nightly?
Same problem on 89.0 (64-bit) Ubuntu
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:89.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/89.0
OS Linux 4.20.0-042000-generic #201812232030 SMP Mon Dec 24 01:32:58 UTC 2018
I have ublock origin and NoScript running. Turning off Ublock and NoScript doesn't fix the issue.

Disabled all proton bs, disabled pocket and re-enabled compact tab view. Nothing else.

Can you reproduce this in troubleshooting mode? This should rule out issues with the profile or any add-ons. If so, can you reproduce it in Nightly (with or without troubleshooting mode)?
Disabled all proton bs
Can you explain what you mean by this? I'm not sure what the "bs" implies, or what specific settings you changed
