Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:89.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/89.0

Steps to reproduce:

I use Firefox on macOS. Before Firefox supported using OS cert store (Keychain), I added some client certs and CAs to Firefox via Preferences -> Security -> View Certificates.

Now that it has gained that support, I am trying to remove the certs and CAs using the same dialog, but that doesn't seem to work.

Actual results:

Certificate manager shows that the certs / CAs have been deleted, but they still persist if you open cert manager again or even after restarting. And I think these certs are also being synced via Firefox Sync, even though I don't see that option in sync settings.

When I created a new profile, everything seemed fine until I signed into Firefox Sync, which seems to have caused these certs to appear again.

Expected results:

The certificates and CAs should get deleted when users try to delete them.
They should not be synced via Firefox Sync transparently. There should be an option to not sync them.

I think the problem is at my end. I'm reviewing my Firefox settings and Keychain. Resolving this bug as invalid for now as I'm not sure this is a Firefox issue or not. Will reopen if required.
