Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:89.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/89.0

Steps to reproduce:

Two firefox accounts

Log into one account, wait for all the settings/bookmarks/passwords to load, then log out and log into the other account

Actual results:

My settings didn't chane, I still had all the bookmarks/passwords from the previous account

Expected results:

All the settings (bookmarks/passwords/ect) from the previous account should be reset and the settings from the new account should be loaded.

I should add, that the second account was a fresh firefox account.

I should add that the second firefox account was a freshly created account, so no settings/passwords/bookmarks ect was associated with the account.

Not only did your current local profile not change, now the second account has a copy of all that data up in the sync cloud. If you log in as that second user on a new computer it will look like the first user now.

This is as designed: when you log into a sync account you're saying you want to sync the current local profile with the remote sync account. New items on either side will be exchanged with the other. If you have two sync accounts you should use two different local profiles (see the about:profiles page).

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Bookmarks & History
Component: Bookmarks & History → Sync

When disconnecting from your account, the confirmation dialog includes a checkbox that says "Delete data from this device (passwords, history, bookmarks, etc.)". Please let us know if that didn't work for you, but otherwise, that's exactly how things are expected to work if you didn't check that button.
