User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:89.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/89.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Update from
firefox-developer-edition-89.0b4-1-x86_64
tofirefox-developer-edition-89.0b6-1-x86_64
- Visited some sites (like GitHub, YT, Netflix)
Actual results:
In about the lower 5th of the browser pixel chunks seem to persist for some time when they change. If and how heavy it is, seem to be kinda random per page load.
Had some pretty having pixel issued first on GitHub (Dark theme) and also some heavy ones while watching a YT-Video or Netflix.
Below a recording of this. I had heaver scenarios but only managed to capture some minor glitching.

I also attached a screenshot of it. I blackened out the majority of it myself since it is of no relevance and added some arrows to make finding the pixel a bit more obvious.
It seems to happen more often (or at all) when the browser is rendering something. So having a Video playing fullscreen without any UI elements above it, seemed to decrease the likelihood. In netflix I also got heavy glitches without the UI showing visibly.
The issues is probably something with the graphics driver. It happend when updating my Manjaro Linux today (along with a lot of other things). It seems to be firefox (dev) specific though since downgrading to the last installed version "fixed the issue". So the bug must been introduced after between the two versions seen above.
I'm running Manjaro Linux with KDE on XOrg with nvidia proprietary drivers v465.31 using a nVidia GTX 1060 6GB and an AMD Ryzen 3700X.
Expected results:
No glitches.

Didn't catch my missspelling of "blackened" early enough. Sorry for that embarrassing grammar mistake.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Graphics' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Reporter, are you still experiencing this?
(In reply to Jim Mathies [:jimm] from comment #3)
Reporter, are you still experiencing this?
Thanks for the heads up. I can't seem to reproduce it anymore (currently on firefox-developer-edition 94.0b3-1).
So I guess this was fixed somewhere else (maybe just accidentally) or whatever combination of dependency on the caused this is no longer there.
Not sure whether to mark this as invalid or duplicate in this case. Feel free to choose.
