Overview Description: In all of the builds of Mozilla, web pages have been rendering quite nicely: The page "shell" and text loads up first and are displayed, and then the graphics are loaded. This makes for speedy web browsing on a slower connection. This is how IE works, for the most part. Netscape, on the other hand, with a complex page will seem to freeze up when loading a complex page, and only display the page once all the graphics are loaded up. Steps to reproduce: Go to http://www.deja.com or http://www.slashdot.org Using build 1999102408 Actual results: Notice that the browser seems to grind to a halt for a while and then displays the whole page at once, graphics and all. Expceted results: The page text and links are displayed nearly immediately, and graphics are then subsequently loaded, allowing the user to interact with the page before all the graphics are loaded. Build date and platform: Mozilla build 1999102408 Windows 98 Additional Information: This build is the first one that has exhibited this behavior. The last build that I have tried before this one was from 10-22-99, which worked fine. Also, I'm not sure if this behavior is noticeable with a fast internet connection/computer. -WD

Vidur -- I think your content-sink code addresses this; please take a look.

Yeah, this should be much better after my sink changes. There's still some additional work that needs to be done to get better chunking for content notifications and UI responsiveness. Bug 17325 covers some of this.
Page load rosk now. go get the latest build and check it out. Marking Verified, thought I did also load www.deja.com on todays build for fun!
