"As for the link error, there seems to be an incompatability between the 
ld (binutils-2.10.91.0.2-3) and/or gcc (2.96-81) that comes with RH 7.1 
and the order of command line arguments in mozilla/config/Makefile for 
making elf-dynstr-gc. It insisits (and this is in accord with the ld man 
page) that the -L/usr/lib -lglib come at the very end, AFTER the -o 
elf-dynstr-gc elf-dynstr-gc.c. The easiest way to fix it is to go into 
mozilla/config/Makefile and change line 98 so that $(GLIB_LIBS) is at 
the end. I guess you could do that in Makefile.in and rerun configure."

I'd rather "fix" the Makefile than pollute the build docs with broken tool quirks.
