Steps to reproduce:

Good Day!

I tried to open an attachment directly in the email. E.g. to play a music file or to read a PDF.

Actual results:

The corresponding window opens but no "OK" is accepted.
Nothing happens.

Expected results:

The PDf should actually be opened and displayed or the music played. This also applies to other formats - documents.

NOT reproducible with installation of unofficial (by wg9s) De SeaMonkey 2.53.8 beta 1 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 Build 20210525143521 (My normal User Profile, Default Classic Theme) on German WIN7 64bit.

• Double click? Right Click?
• Is [OK] shown as active or grey? Which APP is shown for "open with"? Please attach screenshot
• Can you try in safe mode or even better with newly created User Profile?
• I asked you to send such an email (I doubt that that will show new findings, but aou never know ...)

I work with double-click and the "Ok" is first displayed dark and then greyed out and remains so.

I can't find any. But your observation with new Profile and that also Browser is affected are some more indications that the problem is not related to the emails themselves.

That's bad news for you! That probably means that there is a problem in you User Profile and not in SM in general. Can't be be fixed by Devs. I also suffer from such effects like FlashGot and so on? Your problem also might be related to some bad interactions ... . If dialog works fine in Safe Mode with disabled Add-Ons that would back this hypothesis.

Can you please check whether problem persists with default Classic Theme? In parallel I will ask at alt.comp.software.seamonkey

It was the addon Open Download 4.1.2.
After removing it, it works again as it should.

Thanks for the tip, but I haven't used it for a while, so it's not so bad.
I would be more interested in a working Ebay sniper. Unfortunately there is nothing available at the moment.
Maybe it will get better when Seamoney opens up again with other programmes.
