Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:89.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/89.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. log in to Union Bank On Line Banking - https://www.unionbank.com/
  2. Select Bill Pay - https://bankingsso.unionbank.com/billpay/getPayeeList.view

Actual results:

The first few items in the list display correctly, but when there is a blue flag in one item says "Enroll in Ebills", the display becomes offset to the right, breaking the item lines, creating a jumble.

Expected results:

Each group should display horizontally in a coherent manner, so I can use in confidently to pay my bills, as I have for years with previous Firefox versions.

This might also be a security problem ?

This works correctly in Chromium, no problem. Payees are in clear groups, easy to use, as Firefox was before the latest update.

Hi,

Since I don't have an account at Union Bank I cannot confirm the issue.

Could you please check if this issue also happens when using a new profile? (you won't lose your current account)
Here is a link that can help you with that: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles#w_start-the-profile-manager-when-firefox-is-closed

Thanks!

Flags: needinfo?(rogerdavis)
  1. The display appears ok with a new profile.
  2. How do I fix this without having to do all new bookmarks, logins, etc?

You can try to refresh your Firefox, this resets your add-ons and settings but you won't lose your bookmarks and passwords.
Here's how you can do this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

Flags: needinfo?(rogerdavis)
  1. Why did the new version cause this error?
  2. I have Firefox installed on 4 machines. I know the error exists on at least two of them. If I reset it on one, will that populate the others through sync?
  3. How can I isolate one machine to work on it to make sure I don't totally screw up all of them if I do something wrong because they are synced, but when it's successful, re-sync them?

SOLVED - The cause was not the need for a new profile, but the selected minimum text size. It was about 1 point oversized for the grid on the bank page, causing lack of vertical space when the "Enroll in Ebills" box was displayed below the normal lines and the "Zoom Text Only" box is checked.. This caused Firefox to jumble the on-screen display, beginning with the first "Enroll in Ebills" box.

This might be a Firefox bug in itself, that the display will not adapt to a collision.

My work-around is to uncheck the "Zoom Text Only" box, and use 12 point for the minimum text size. I can then use Zoom to enlarge the page, but I lose several lines off the bottom of the screen.

Since it is solved I'm going to close this issue.
Thank you for looking into the cause of it.
