When I click on a link to get a download, Moz says (by a warning box) that the
file cant be writeable. Yet, if I shift-click I see in the status bar in the
bottom grey stripe window (the section at the bottom of Mozilla window), show a
proper zipfile name.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on a file link to download

Warning box shows up

Expected Results:  
Opened up file save as box or progress bar for downloads.

Win98SE, 256MB RAM, 850Athlon

I have the same problem on two different machines (W2K and on a WinXP Home): 
When I try to save a file, I virtually always get an error
"C:\DOCUMEN~1\...\LOCALS~1\TEMP\whatever.ext could not be saved, because the
source file could not be read."  (The times I don't get an error message,
nothing at all seems to happen.)  In my case, hitting the shift key doesn't seem
to make a difference.

resolving wfm, this bug has been resolved for sure (bug 171441)
