User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/83.0.4103.116 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Receive a certified e-mail (italian "PEC") as attachment of a plain e-mail (forwarded from certified mail mailserver). The original mail is an attachment (something like "ForwardedMessage.eml"). Open that attachment double clicking on it. Alternatively, save the received mail as an .eml file, then open it, and then open the attached .eml file.
Actual results:
The attached .eml file opens as an empty content mail with no attachments.
But if you choose to forward the received mail, and open (double-click) the attached .eml file in the edit window that appears, it opens the attached mail correctly showing its contents and its original attachments.
Expected results:
The attachment .eml file should show up its content and its attachments. Also, the content and attachments of the attached mail should show up in the received mail. If I try saving a normal mail in an .eml file and send it to me as attachment to another mail, it works like expected.

PEC = "POSTA CERTIFICATA"? Those e-mails cause all sorts of trouble, see bug 1216951, bug 1524750, bug 1607872 and bug 1576655. Is this bug here a duplicate of bug 1607872? That trouble started when bug 1240290 changed the behavior, see bug 1607872 comment #5. There also used to be a preference that would allow seeing sub-parts

but that was removed in bug 1576828.

Yes José it is POSTA CERTIFICATA. I have read bug 1607872 and this seems a duplicate of that. I just added some information that could be useful, please help me to merge this info here and mark this as duplicate. Do you think I should write a comment there?

Sorry, I'm just a volunteer who happens to be a bit familiar with the issue. As reporter, you can mark the bug as duplicate by clicking the "Resolve" button below. You will be CC'ed on bug 1607872 automatically. You can also provide more detail there.
What interests me is whether POSTA CERTIFICATA doesn't work at all, which would have quite an impact on users in Italy, or whether it "only" doesn't work in certain cases where the signed e-mail is forwarded, so it appears as sub-part and is hence no longer displayed. Your comment #0 talks about forwarding, but it's unclear whether all POSTA CERTIFICATA arrives as forwarded message or just in some cases. BTW, bug 1607872 talks about "complex" MIME, when in fact forwarding doesn't really create something that complex, sure it's more complex than a one-part plaintext message.
