Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:88.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/88.0

Steps to reproduce:

I have disabled pocket, highlight and snippets. On my desktop - Fedora 34 - pocket turns itself back on. If I go into settings and turn it off, it is fine for the rest of the session, but at the next session, highlights and snippets are turned on. If I turn those off, the next session pocket will be re-enabled, etc etc

Actual results:

As above. I have noticed that pocket also spontaneously turns itself back on on my laptop, which shares a user account. It does not happen on my "recreation" computer, which also shares the same user account. Laptop and desktop are both Fedora 34 workstations, recreation computer is split Pop_OS/Windows 10.

Expected results:

If I disable pocket, highlight and snippets, they should stay off across all systems.

This is my first bug report and I don't feel like I'm being very useful, but it seemed more appropriate to post something here than on reddit.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::New Tab Page' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

I could not reproduce this issue. Tried by using the same Sync account on 2 different machines (Ubuntu 20.04 and macOS Bug Sur 11.4) - when I disable pocket or snippets on one machine, the same thing happens also on the other machine (after waiting some time for both machines to Sync).

Gatineau_joe, are you logged in through Sync with the same account on all the devices? If Yes, is Sync enabled on all of them? Could you please give more details about the method you are using to disable pocket, highlight and snippets?
