User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:90.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/90.0
Steps to reproduce:
This appeared on upgrade to firefox 90
Base OS Mint 17.3 Linux
Actual results:
Using a dark theme, the menu bar became black on black and invisible
Drop down menu or bookmark menu boxes apperaed with transparent backgrounds rendering them unusable.
Behaviour persists with hardware acceleration disabled and in safe mode.
Expected results:
Menu bar should respect theme.
Drop down menu itens should have solid background.

Further information.
Firfox 90 on Mint 20 installation does not show the transparent menus, but the menu bar is still 'black on black' with a dark theme.
I suspect there are two separate issues - and the transparent menus are an issue with obsolescent gtk or something

Does this bug also occur with https://nightly.mozilla.org?

Which gtk theme are you using? Menubar should be fixed by bug 1720441. Transparent menus should be hopefully fixed by bug 1720874.
I am sorry I was unable to respond to your request for further information, but both issues reported on the original machine have been fixed with release 90.0.2.
As yet the Mint 20 distro channel is only on release 90.0, so the two machines using that upgrade route are still showing black on black, but I expect that they will resolve OK.
Please leave this open until I can confirm it is solved on all machines, but it is defimitely not worth spending time on at this point.
I can confirm that release 90.0.2 has resolved all these issues on all platforms. I think this can be closed now.
