RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1721084

People

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:90.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/90.0

Steps to reproduce:

I have master password set for password manager and I have saved http auth password in password manager. When I open browser and go to that page master password is asked and then http auth login form with filled password is shown, which I submit and then page loads.

Actual results:

After some time using Firefox that http auth protected page stops working, even trying to reload it again fails (no error).
When I try to open that page on another tab, then I get master password prompt again and then http auth prompt again. After submitting that password on new tab I can reload page on original tab also.

Expected results:

Page shoud have continued working and trying to open page on another tab should not ask master password nor http auth again.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Password Manager' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Password Manager
Product: Firefox → Toolkit

Theoretically, the master password should not expire during an entire session.
I feel this is similar to Bug 1721084, but I'm not sure. I'll look into this.

Maybe. But weird thing is, that this http auth protected page prompts for password again also. It's like session state is cleaned.
I also have Firefox sync in use and sometimes Firefox shows new master password prompt by itself (I do not need to go auth page again). That is probably caused by Sync trying to sync in background.

Fix in 91.0.2 seems to have work. I have no longer had this issue yesterday and today.
