172188 - mozilla hangs trying to do cert-auth after machine has been asleep

I'm not sure exactly why this is happening but it's 100% reproducable.

Scenario:
With smartcard attached and working with Mozilla (09/29 build+Kaie's SSL patch):
- log into your cert-auth IMAP server and check your mail
- unplug smartcard reader
- put Mac to sleep for a few minutes
- wake Mac back up
- attach smartcard reader to mac
- check messsages on IMAP server (this works, so it's caching the SSL session)
- compose a new message and try to send it to your SSL/SMTP server
- Mozilla hangs
- Mac gives "spinning beach ball of death" on Mozilla until you force-quit it

it feels like Mozilla loses the connection to the smartcard and never figures
out how to recover.

Yes, it doesn't happen when I use a software-stored certificate.

If this happens only on Mac with a smartcard, then I'm not the right person to
look into this problem - unless somebody provides with me a smartcard that can
be used on my Mac (iBook, available interfaces USB and FireWire) which can be
used to reproduce the bug.

this bug.

Have not seen this behavior of late, perhaps it has been fixed.  As a very rough estimate, I last saw it several years ago.

OK to close.  I don't see this behavior with at least one vendor's smartcard on Mac OS X 10.4.10.

Bill, thanks for closing. However, the correct resolution is workforme.  This bug does not contain a "patch", so status of bug cannot be FIXED.
