• When the user inputs some data in a PDF form and then opens the About Firefox window and updates the browser, he may think he reached an infinite loading screen when actually expecting to answer the data loss dialog before restarting.

Affected versions

• Nightly v92.0a1

Affected platforms

Preconditions

• Flip the "pdfjs.enableXfa" pref to true.

Steps to reproduce

1. Launch browser.
2. Load the attached PDF file.
3. Choose an option on the drop-down/combo box.
4. Open the About Firefox window and update the browser.

Expected result

• The data loss dialog is displayed in the view of the user.

Actual result

• The data loss dialog is hidden under the About window.

Regression range

• Not a regression.

Additional information:

• This issue occurs with any PDF that shows a data loss dialog when closing without saving.
• I don't know if it should be blocking the XFA feature bug. Remove is not the case.

It's likely not a XFA issue.

I can definitely say that I can't test Firefox ESR v78.12.0esr or ESR v78.13.0esr with an acroform PDF because the filling them is not supported (as the yellow notification/infobar says). I wonder if there are other types of PDF forms that I could test this with...

This issue can definitely be reproduced on Firefox Release v90.0.2. The Leave page / Stay on page prompt is hidden under the About Firefox window.

Furthermore, Beta v92.0b2 and Nightly v93.0a1 also reproduce it.

@calixte: Do you know some type of PDF form that supports filling in Firefox ESR (v78.12.0esr) to test whether this issue reproduces there?

:danibodea, form stuff was disabled in 78.12.0esr so it isn't reproducible.
