User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:90.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/90.0
Steps to reproduce:
I am trying to rename a bookmark in the Sidebar (shown by hitting cmd+B or ctrl+B).
Actual results:
Currently, to edit a bookmark, I have to do a right-click/secondary click/two-finger tap to bring up the context menu, then click "Edit Bookmark...", which brings up a pop-up window in the center-top of the Browser window. In that window, in the "Name" field I can change the name of the bookmark. This is quite cumbersome if I don't want to edit other attributes of the bookmark.
Expected results:
It would be great if it was possible to also make the bookmark-name editable directly in the sidebar, for instance by clicking a second time on an already selected bookmark, similar to how files can be renamed in the macOS Finder. Here, clicking on the file-name of an already selected file makes the name editable, without the need for a pop-up window.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

we have some initial implementation of that in the Star panel, but it was not ported to other views.
I think this is a dupe of (the unfortunately old) Bug 287137.
