Details

(Whiteboard: QA-not-reproducible)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:90.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/90.0

Steps to reproduce:

I attempted to move a tab from a firefox window and drop it to a second monitor.

Actual results:

I'm using Firefox on Fedora 34 Workstation Wayland session. I am unable to drag a tab from the group. I can move a tab between different firefox windows, but cannot move them to an independent window.

Expected results:

Tabs should be able to be removed/dragged from a window to create a new firefox window.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Tabbed Browser' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi, i tried to reproduce using ubuntu 20 64bit stock, using firefox release 91 and 90.0.2 and i was able to move the tab to the second monitor.

Does this issue occur in the latest nightly version of firefox? Here is a link from where you can
download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/

Please let us know
thanks

The nightly download works but it is the Xwayland version of firefox. Fedora ships a Wayland version of firefox. The wayland version has the issue but I don't know if mozilla is in charge of that build.

I am also able to recreate this. I'm running Arch Linux with KDE Plasma (wayland).

I'm unable to move a tab to my second monitor, when trying to "drop" it on a free desktop I see that desktop goes lighter (as if KDE(?) is trying to move a file there). I'm suspecting that this might be a bug with Plasma, not Firefox, as it works fine under Cinnamon and Windows.

Firefox: 92.0
Kde plasma: 5.22.5
KDE Frameworks: 5.86.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

I could not replicate this running KDE Plasma with X11. There the drag-n-drop behaviour works as expected.
