User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0

Steps to reproduce:

On a MacBook Pro (2018-newer), if you use Firefox Developer Edition Version 92 and have a lot of bookmarks in a subfolder of Bookmarks Toolbar, if you go to one of the favorites a long way down the list in a subfolder with many favorites and then go back to the folder in the Bookmarks Toolbar it will not scroll up and you have to close and reopen.

Reported in latest Big Sur 11.5.1 and newer

Actual results:

The up arrow did not go up and would show subfolders, but not their names

Expected results:

It should have scrolled up as in earlier versions like Firefox 90-02.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Toolbars and Customization' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

This appeared to work for me, but then broke the second time - but I also noticed that when using subfolders of folders in the bookmarks toolbar to test with, the parent folder item remained hovered, even after closing and reopening the panel, so it felt like graphics state being cached. Mike, is it possible this is a dupe of bug 1724848?

Yeah, that sounds very plausible. Let's recheck this after the fix get uplifted.

Depends on: 1724848

Hi Michelle K,

Can you check to see if this issue still exists in a recent Firefox Beta build? (at least 92.0b3). We think the fix we uplifted for bug 1724848 will have addressed this bug.

Hey Michelle,
If you can still reproduce this can you try a few things?
Can you test the issue while in Safe Mode? You can find helpful info here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode .
Also a fresh new profile could help. You can find more about creating a new profile here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_6-create-a-new-firefox-profile .
If possible, you can test this issue on the nightly build as well. Download the build from : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/nightly/all/ .

We haven't heard from the reporter in about a month. We can re-open if the reporter responds to the needinfo in comment 4 saying the issue still exists.
