Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:90.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/90.0

Steps to reproduce:

File->Save Page As
File->Print
File->Import From Another Browser

Actual results:

Dialogs appear that cannot be moved without moving main FF window

Expected results:

I should be able to move the dialog windows, as it used to be possible to do, and it still works in the Windows implementation (FF 90.0.2).

It's important to be able to see the content of the main window when using these dialogs, even if it means having to move the dialog out of the way a few times.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Printing: Output' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Product: Firefox → Core

It's a UI issue, not a printer issue.
The problem is fixed by using gnome-tweaks.
Select the Windows tab on the left. Then turn off Attach Modal Dialogs.
Problem solved.

That setting is hard to find. I've been cursing at it for at least a month. It would be nice if the setting could also be found inside of the Mozilla software. At best, it could toggle the settings. At worst, it could display the instructions on how to run gnome-tweaks.

I suspect this behavior is intentional.
