Details

I am using Red Hat Linux 7.3 with Kernel 2.4.18-10. Since Red Hat has updated my
Kernel i have a big problem with pop-ups. There are several pop-ups on which
Mozilla 1.1 hangs up. For example at www.nickles.de or www.pc-welt.de. I have
already updated Mozilla from 1.0.1 to 1.1 since I have updated my Kernel but now
the problem exists again. At Windows such problems ddoesn't exist.
Severity: blocker → critical
are you playing audio in the background? see bug 58339
Yes, but it was never a problem playing mp3 with xmms and surfing with Mozilla (
this bug even exists at Netscape7 ).
what version of flash do you have? version 5.0.51 behaves much worse than 5.0.50

if you pause/stop xmms while Mozilla is stuck, does Mozilla come back?
You are right! The problem doesn't exist if I do not play audio in the background!!
My version of flash is 5.0.51, but do not have any obvious problems with it. If
Mozilla is hanging and I stop my Audio or even close xmms Mozilla still stucks.
That doesn't solve the problem.
try out http://www4.ncsu.edu/~ajschult/flash_linux.5.0.50.tar.gz

also, you need to use the ESD output plugin. OSS (and I think aRts) have problems.

anyway this is bug 58339. more workaround info in that bug
