Details
(Whiteboard: [QA-not-reproducible])
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 11; Mobile; rv:91.0) Gecko/91.0 Firefox/91.0
Steps to reproduce:
Start Firefox. I'm running it in Fedora 34 in a Wayland GNOME session and starting Firefox with a native Wayland window (not XWayland).
Actual results:
When the menu button is clicked, or any addon with a menu (it happened with 1Password for me), the menu continuously disappears and reappears very rapidly, making them unusable.
A couple of other users on Reddit have confirmed they also have this issue, although some say they do not: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fedora/comments/p64wts/firefox_91_breaks_menus/
Expected results:
Menus should stay open and interactive

Hey Skyler,
I tried reproducing this issue on the latest versions of Firefox Nightly 93.0a1 (2021-08-18), beta 92.0b5 and release 91.0.1 but the menus were acting normal for me (granted the test was on Ubuntu 18).
Can you test the issue while in Safe Mode? You can find helpful info here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode .
Also a fresh new profile could help. You can find more about creating a new profile here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_6-create-a-new-firefox-profile .
If possible, you can test this issue on the nightly build as well. Download the build from : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/nightly/all/ .

Hi Andrei, I actually can't try safe mode, as it looks like you have to turn it on through the menu that I cannot access. Is there a setting I can toggle in the about:config?
I tried a new profile, and the problem persisted.
I tried the latest nightly build, and it did not have the same problem. Perhaps the issue has been fixed already, and I just have to wait for Fedora to push it out?

I may have the same problem. I upgraded from Fedora 32 to 34 recently and that appears to correlate to when the issue began occurring.
I tried safe mode and reseting the settings it does not fix the issue.
The problem only appears to impact the "hamburger" settings menu and some other menus intermittently. Only Firefox appears to be impacted.
Repro steps:
- I click the hamburger the menu
- The menu is initially displayed but flickers rapidly, sometimes remaining invisible.
- I move the mouse up / down the menu and it flickers, rendering repeatedly.
- It is difficult to click/select menu items, but if I try repeatedly they do in fact work.
I was able to work around this problem by lowering the "Scaling Factor" on tweak UI from 1.5 to 1.25.
I believe this is used to control the DPI on 4K monitors like mine. Perhaps this hack will work for you too.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

I can confirm that this issue has been fixed in Firefox 92 on Fedora 34.

Then it was most likely a duplicate of bug 1708709 which got backported to 92 in Fedora.
