Discovered the outbound ISP was blocking traffic on PORT 25 disallowing me to
connect to my domain's mail host. After my cofounder and systems engineer ran
some analysis he discovered that port 465 was not being blocked for outbound
smtp traffic.

HENCE NOT A BUG WITH MOZILLA BUT A PAIN IN THE ASS WITH THE ISP (i.e.
Earthlink.net via Mindspring.com's network)

Run a scan on all open ports your ISP allows and modify your outbound smtp port
accordingly.
