This is related to fields with rich text data, very rare.

This is bug is causing me to lose data and is not limited to rich text.

First download an editable PDF (I suggest https://media.wizards.com/2016/dnd/downloads/5E_CharacterSheet_Fillable.pdf).

Edit a text field but not not remove focus from the field (IE the field should still be in the edit mode with the white outline, being able to type text in etc)

Use the shortcut Ctrl+s to save the file.

When the save is finished, the saved file will not have the edit AND the edit will be cleared in the PDF.

I must emphasize, WHEN YOU SAVE THE FILE WHILE EDITING A FIELD THE EDIT IS UNDONE AND THE EDIT IS LOST. IF YOU ARE ADDING A LOT OF TEXT SAVING THE FILE WILL MAKE YOU LOSE YOUR WORK.

Thanks. Sorry for the caps, but I've been having to work around this bug for months and it is very annoying to lose session notes because I tried to save.

:Hoyt Pittman, your issue isn't the same as the one reported in this bug.
Could you file a new bug in attaching your pdf ? and add a clear way to reproduce it (I just tested in nightly and it works for me).
And please give use the firefox version you're using, thank you.
