Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Put focus on folder list (in this case, Inbox)
--> note that I did this accidentally, because of the bug that sometimes the highlighted message is blue even though focus is in the folder pane, where the highlighted folder is also blue. (The only thing that should be blue is the one that has focus, other should be grey.)
  2. Press delete key on keyboard

Actual results:

  1. NO PROMPT
  2. Folder was deleted
  3. I have done it before with a different folder accidentally, and it thankfully didn't delete the mail, but moved it to the nearest folder—which caused quite a bit of panic. With the inbox, it immediately recreated an inbox folder and had to re-download all the messages that were directly in the inbox.

Expected results:

  1. Prompt before deleting a whole folder! I would never do this with just the delete key on purpose.
  2. If I'm actually trying to delete a folder, I just want it moved to the trash, with subfolders and mail included—not to remove the folder but not the mail.

I do get a prompt. Maybe you have an add-on that is messing things up. Try with Help | Troubleshoot mode

wfm on 102.4.1 (64-bit), Win10, prompts and deletes mail in folder.
