It seems that Mozilla Calendar fails to subscribe a local file which begins with UTF-8 Byte Order Mark "\xef\xbb\xbf". http://www.snowelm.com/~t/temp/temp.ics Download the .ics at the above URL to a local file. Select [Tools] - [Subscribe to Remote Calendar] from the menu, and choose the file. You don't see any events, although the file contains one. When a newline is put before BEGIN:VCALENDAR as in http://www.snowelm.com/~t/temp/temp2.ics, this problem does not occur.
The first calendar does not have the text "BEGIN" in it, which is what we look for to subscribe to calendars. The second calendar does have it.
