Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0

Steps to reproduce:

Updated to Big Sur 11.6. Then updated FF to 92.0. Opened AOL mail email with attachment. Click on attachment as normal.

Actual results:

Nothing happens, although the little refresh arrow in the browser top spins around once. Nothing downloads.

Expected results:

File attachment is downloaded to "Downloads" (or any other) folder.

Tried with multiple emails, different attachments.
Safari browser does not have this problem. And, Firefox does not have this problem when trying to download a document from Gmail (attachment downloads properly from Gmail). I tried to revert back to FF v. 91.0.2 (from 92.0) but it did not help.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Cocoa' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

This could potentially be a problem on the website itself, but could you run mozregression[1] to see when this started happening? If you have never run mozregression before, simply run these three commands in a Terminal window:

sudo easy_install pip
sudo python3 -m pip install -U mozregression --ignore-installed
mozregression --good 2017-01-01

A number of Firefox versions will open in succession to narrow down when this started occurring. Simply type "good" or "bad" in Terminal based on whether or not a build reproduces the bug. Once finished, please post the output from the last run. It should give a last good and first bad revision as well as a link to look at the changesets in that range. Thank you!
