As the releasing docs currently propose is to directly import the geckodriver code from mozilla-central into the release branch on Github. For more safety I would propose to include a PR instead. During the last releases I always made local mistakes and it was good to actually get a second pair of eyes for the release sign-off.

With the upcoming 0.31.0 release we are going to also publish the marionette and geckodriver crates. Given that this requires changes as well, we will wait with landing this patch until the release has been done over on bug 1723202.
