Moving to another machine should allow setting up Thunderbird using a profile backup. It would be logical to add a link to this in the account setup tab.

Indeed, we should offer users a smarter first experience to allow them choosing the option that fits them the best.
Simply adding a link to the account setup page wouldn't make much sense on the long run, and it can create a weird balance.

Overall, the current paradigm is not the best as we're forcibly opening the email account setup, but then we're adding small links to create a new email and import and existing profile.

We should rethink a bit about the onboarding experience on first run to better lay down the available options to the user.
I'll take this for some design rounds.

Do we have a keyword or another tag we could use for this scenario?
I added needs-design to the Whiteboard, but I'm not sure if it's a good solution. Would be possible to create a new keyword for it?

I don't think one exists. You can use a whiteboard annotation, but if you need a keyword please file a bug in the b.m.o. component to add it.

We're gonna rebuild the account hub after 115 to have a unique setup screen with all available options, so this specific request for the email account setup page can be closed since that page will go away.
