To allow users to self-diagnose keys, it would be helpful to provide information about the decisions that Thunderbird makes internally, or about information that it obtains from RNP.
It's undecided how to best provide that information.
Given we want to keep user interface minimal, I wonder how we should trigger it.
As an initial step, I have a patch that uses a hidden user interface trick to print debug information into the console.
(Or we could add a discoverable menu command in key manager.)

With this patch, open OpenPGP key manager, select a key and open the key properties. (Either double click the key, or use menu: view / key properties.)
Then while the key properties is shown, click the "type" label three times. After the third click, debug information will be printed to the "Error Console". (Open the error console from the global Thunderbird window, menu Tools, Developer Tools.)

Is this something we should add to Troubleshooting Information - bug 1567764 ?
